DataPLANT Strategy Meeting in Mannheim

In early February, the DataPLANT team met in Mannheim for an internalstrategy meeting to discuss key developments and align priorities forthe upcoming project phase.

A central topic of the meeting was the evolving landscape of the NFDIand DataPLANT’s positioning within the broader national framework. Theteam reflected on current structural developments and discussedstrategic options to ensure continued impact, visibility, andsustainability of DataPLANT’s services for the plant science community.

Another major focus was the agile adjustment of the 2026 project plan.In response to changing requirements and significant budgetaryreductions, priorities were reassessed and work packages refined. Theobjective is to maintain reliable service provision while ensuringflexibility and efficient allocation of resources and flexibility underevolving conditions.

The meeting also addressed the further development of the DataPLANTCommunity Call. The discussion focused on the format, thematic focus,and mechanisms to enhance community engagement and feedback loops,ensuring that the call remains an accessible and effective platform forexchange.

This strategy meeting provided important impulses for the next projectphase, reinforcing a shared commitment to adaptive, community-drivenresearch data infrastructure development.
